For several years, Hollywood has shifted from an endless cash-grab of remakes and reboots to delivering a host of nostalgic legacy sequels. In general, this has led to a string of box office hits including Ghostbusters: Afterlife and currently Top Gun: Maverick, which has further stoked the need for the return of more original casts in new sequels to 80s and 90s movies. It looks like one such movie that is inching closer to a new belated sequel is Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, the 1997 cult classic starring Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino. While both stars have spoken about a new movie being in early development, Sorvino recently appeared on TODAY and seemed to give an encouraging update.
