Avril Lavigne Turning Sk8er Boi Into Feature Film for 20th Anniversary

December 15, 2021

“Sk8er Boi” took the punk scene by storm back in 2002 when it first came out, garnering Avril Lavigne the title of the generation’s pop-punk princess. Released as the second single from her debut album, “Let Go,” the song immediately became a commercial success. In addition, “Sk8er Boi” also got Lavigne nominated for a Grammy for “Best Female Rock Vocal Performance” but unfortunately lost it to Sheryl Crow’s “Steve McQueen.” Alongside the song, the music video also gained critical acclaim as well by being voted one of the best music videos of the decade by BT TV. Now 20 years later, Lavigne revealed that she is turning her most acclaimed song into a feature film.
